Who is Zak Champagne?

 

Zak believes that each and every student has important mathematical ideas and works to share his passion and love for mathematics with teachers around the country.

Zachary Champagne has been involved in mathematics education for 25 years. He believes that each and every student has important mathematical ideas and works to share his passion and love for mathematics with teachers around the globe.

Zak is the Chief Content Officer at Flynn Education where he works with an amazing team of educators creating content for teachers to use across the globe. Zak most recently served as a Lead Teacher and Director of Mathematics at The Discovery School in Jacksonville, Florida where he taught third and fourth grade students.

He is also is an author on the award winning enVision Mathematics program published by Savvas.

He has received many state and national awards for excellence in teaching, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), Duval County Teacher of the Year, Finalist for Florida Teacher of the Year, and the Kenneth Kidd Mathematics Educator of the Year award.

He has presented across the county to groups of teachers and has been a featured and keynote speaker at a number of math education conferences including The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Conference, The National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics Annual Conference, The California Math Council – North Section, The Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Conference, and The Clark County School District Summer Conference.
