Parenting is Hard. Teaching is Hard.

Last week at the Annual Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference, I recorded and shared a talk called, “Playing the Long Game.” I’ve written about this idea here on this blog, and I’ve shared an earlier version of this talk with a few other small groups.

But, for this recording for FCTM, I chose to share a deeply personal story about my relationship with my son and how that currently parallels my thinking about teaching.

While I will continue to refine this talk and will be sharing it with other audiences, I don’t plan to share this particular story with a live audience. But, I wanted to share it with you in this way.

Thanks for listening.
